These miniatures were a pain to paint. All that filigree was so annoying and time consuming. However, I really like the result, I think the minis came out really nicely. I tried making the filigree an actual gold colour, but it ended up looking very plastic and just not right. The tan colour with cream highlights worked so much better. I’m particularly proud of the cloth parts on these minis, I think the colours really look good and the blood smear on the handkerchief turned out exactly how I wanted it to look. Al in all this was one giant of a headache to paint, but I’m happy I stuck through right to the end.
New Additions – Mantic Wraiths
These miniatures have been sitting on my painting table for a good long time now, so I finally decided to finish them off. The paint jobs are fairly simple, and in the end they didn’t take very long to finish off. The robes and tassels were painted purple to tie into the army’s colour scheme. The idea for this army is that necromantic energy is purple, so that’s been carried over as the primary colour for the army. The weapons and armour are a simple metallic silver, with dark browns for the wooden parts. I tried to keep the armour and wood darker so that it would look older, tarnished but not rusting to pieces. The faces and hands are painted in a bluish-grey colour to look like ghostly undead flesh.
These are the older metal wraiths that Mantic used to sell. At some point I’d like to get some of their newer plastic-resin wraiths, both for the new poses and because I’d like to have a couple units of these guys to use as Etherals in a Fantasy Rules! army.
Welcome to the Gallery
This site has been designed to store pictures of all the miniatures I’ve painted over the years, and all the miniatures I’ll paint in the future. The pictures have been organised into separate pages, each page for a different manufacturer.
I’ll also use this site to share painting tips and tricks, reviews of miniatures and games, pictures of armies made up of the miniatures I own, etc.
So, feel free to take a look around. If you’d like to get in touch with me for any reason you can send me an email.
